NEW ONLINE CLASSIC BOATING MAGAZINE DEBUTS
Yorba Linda, CA: Borrowing a page from the hot rod and vintage car restoration industries, Media Direction, a 30-year advertising and public relations company specializing in the performance marine market, has launched an all-new website and bi-monthly online magazine, Classic Custom Boats.
"It just seemed like a natural progression since the vintage performance boat market has exploded with interest and activity over the past few years," remarked Bob Brown, Media Direction president, and editor/publisher of Classic Custom Boats. "This is the only E-magazine that is exclusively devoted to classic V-drives, jets and outboards of the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. Nostalgia is very big right now and there are literally thousands of boaters all across the country who are involved in restoring and enjoying these great older boats. The editorial content is a mixture of feature boats, how-to-tips, restoration projects, interviews, tech articles and select racing coverage, plus a section for readers to submit their own boats."
Brown has been a performance oriented boating journalist for 37 years; formally the Executive Editor of Powerboat Magazine and a monthly freelance contributing writer/photographer to publications such as Hot Boat, Performance Boats, Trailer Boats and Water Ski.
The premiere issue of Classic Custom Boats is currently available online for complimentary viewing at www.classiccustomboats.com. "Things in the publishing business have certainly changed over the past four decades," commented Brown. "I'm still a traditional print format kind of guy at heart, but given the economy and convenience of publishing in an electronic format, it just makes good sense."
In addition to the online E-magazine, the Classic Custom Boats website also offers a free forum for boating discussion, a coming events calendar, and a reader gallery where photos and video submissions can be posted and shared.
